Samsung has officially unveiled the next generation of iSocell GN2 image sensor with 50 megapixels, 1.4 megapixels and 1/1.12 inch large base. It can output up to 100 megapixels of ultra-high-definition images. Notably, the “Big Cup” in the Mi 11 series, the Mi 11 Pro, is likely to be the first to use this sensor.
The ISOCELL GN2 sensor has a 1/1.12-inch base and 50 megapixels. It has a pixel area of up to 1.4μm. In dark environments, such as indoors or at night, the sensor is able to absorb more light and take brighter, clearer pictures with four pixels in one to form a 2.8μm pixel.
In addition, compared with the previous generation of ISOCELL GN1, ISOCELL GN2 can achieve up to 100 million pixel ultra-high-definition photo output, and can fully improve the focusing ability with the full pixel dual-core focus PRO technology, but also through line interleave HDR and intelligent ISO PRO technology in different lighting environments to achieve a more vivid image effect.
