Just under two months after its presentation in China, the Xiaomi Mi 11 finally reaches the international market. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Global Version has landed in Europe first and does so with a charger in its box, perhaps the most important change compared to the Chinese version, which marks a change in the company’s plans.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 international includes a 55W charger in its box, made with Gallium nitride (GaN) to achieve a smaller size compared to other high-power chargers. In addition, the Xiaomi Mi 11 has 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The main point with the Xiaomi Mi 11 at the hardware level is that it launches the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, the new processor that succeeds the Snapdragon 865. In this generation the 5G X60 modem is integrated, the architecture finally goes to 5 nanometers and we have new Kryo cores (customized by Qualcomm) that promise to improve power and energy efficiency over their predecessors.
The screen of the Xiaomi Mi 11 has Super AMOLED technology, a diagonal of 6.81 inches, and WQHD + resolution in this model. The refresh rate is 120Hz (they work in 2K), a great improvement over the 90Hz of the previous generation. It is a slightly curved panel on its sides with a small hole in the screen and, according to the renders, it seems to be very well used. The density is 515 PPI, which is quite high, with a maximum peak of 1500nits for brightness, spectacular figures.
The refresh rate is adaptive, with modes of 30, 60, 90, and 120Hz, which will vary according to the content that we view on the screen. The goal is to save as much battery life as possible.
This processor is accompanied by a base configuration of 8GB of RAM + 128GB of internal memory, being able to go up to 12 + 256GB in the case of the most ambitious version. The battery is 4600mAh, with support for fast charging of 55W. It is accompanied by another 50W for wireless charging and 10W for reverse charging. It is an insane fast-charging system that not many manufacturers reach for, with the advantage that the global version does include a charger (in addition to a cover).
The camera has a huge 1 / 1.33 “sensor, with a 108MP resolution, seven-element lens, and optical image stabilizer. It is one of the largest sensors on the market, powered by artificial intelligence and computational photography. The angle is 13MP, allowing you to take pictures with a greater angle. Finally, we find a 5MP macro sensor, the sensor that is perhaps most out of tune in mobile of this caliber.
Xiaomi highlights the “1 click” functions, to facilitate user shots, the “cinematic” filters, and the ability to record in HDR10 +, the latter being perhaps the most differential.
Pricing and availability
The variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Global Version will reach the European market for 749 euros ($905 ). The model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal space will cost 799 euros ($965). The values are much more attractive than those of the Galaxy S21 Plus and S21 Ultra. It will be available in blue, black and a new white in late February.
