Samsung’s New Flagship Ditches Qualcomm to Use Exynos 2100

Around 2015, Meizu had a very ambiguous relationship with Samsung. At that time, except for Samsung’s own flagship, only Meizu could use Samsung Exynos flagship chip, and it could compete with Qualcomm. Meizu became the only mobile phone manufacturer that used three flagship chips at the same time.

However, due to some policies and the Exynos itself, Samsung has gradually narrowed the market for Exynos chips to only South Korean and some regional models, but that may change now.

According to recent reports, Samsung is planning to replace its flagship Exynos chip for the global market due to the lack of production capacity of the Snapdragon 888 and other factors. The upcoming Galaxy S21 FE will be the first flagship phone to test the waters.

According to sources, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will be equipped with the Exynos 2100 processor in all regions of the world, which is a flagship chip that is completely comparable in performance to the Snapdragon 888, even in terms of the CPU, which is very strong.

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 FE has been certified by the U.S. Federal Commission of Commerce (FCC), which means the phone is not far away from its official launch date, and is expected to be released in July or August.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has the same overall design as the S21 series, with a full-scale display with a hole in the center on the front, but the screen size has been upgraded, the source said. The 6.5-inch display has a FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a fingerprint under the screen.

The back of Galaxy S21 FE is still made of plastic material, and the rear camera is also a matrix tri-camera scheme. The specifications are 12 megapixels wide Angle +12 megapixels ultra-wide Angle +8 megapixels telephoto lens, supporting triple zoom shooting. There is little difference between Galaxy S21 FE and the previous generation in configuration.
