Samsung has released two versions of most premium smartphones in the past few years – one with a Qualcomm chipset and one with its own Exynos chips. In the Samsung Galaxy S21 family, the chipsets in question are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 (US and China) and Samsung’s own Exynos 2100, which are available in every other market.
We are already seen how the two models compare in terms of benchmarks and performance. Now it is time to sight how they fare in battery lifestyles. In this regard, GSMARENA compared the battery life performance of these two versions of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. So let’s see how they do in battery management.
Before we get to the results, a few words about the process. The tests were performed with the best possible mobile signal and with the default state of the mobiles, ie with S-Pen and without AOD. Also, the tests were performed with native 1440p resolution, with the Adaptive refresh rate enabled.
Under these conditions, the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, with Snapdragon 888 lasted 32 hours and 10 minutes in 3G calling, 14 hours and 46 minutes in web browsing, and 18 hours and 33 minutes in video playback. The corresponding times for the Exynos 2100 are 35 hours and 32 minutes, 15 hours and 4 minutes, and 17 hours and 53 minutes.
In fact, we see that performance of these two versions of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is very close to each other. The only point where the difference can be interpreted is the phone calls. This is due to the fact that the Qualcomm X60 5G modem is cheaper than the Exynos. Of course, the difference is mainly found in 5G, but it is still there in 3G and 4G. Anyway, Samsung seems to have built a really good processor with the Exynos 2100, as it competes with one of the top chips on the market, the Snapdragon 888.
