Samsung Exynos 2100 Will be Announced On January 12th

Earlier this month, Qualcomm officially introduced its high-end processor, and now it’s Samsung’s turn to reveal its launch plans with the Exynos 2100 SoC. Recently, Samsung has revealed that its high-end Exynos chip will be announced on January 12, two days before the Galaxy S21 series is expected to launch.

In an advertisement on the Samsung Exynos Twitter account that says “Exynos is back”, it seems that the Exynos 2100 will be a processor that many have been waiting for, making Samsung’s chip manufacturing division proud.

This “return” may be the result of Samsung abandoned its plan to include custom cores, instead, the Exynos 2100 will integrate ARM cores. Expected to have one ARM’s X1 main core clocked at up to 2.91 GHz, combined with a trio of Cortex-A78s high-performance cores running at 2.81 GHz and the four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores operate at 2.21 GHz. They will be coupled with Mali-G78 GPU.

While there has been some speculation that the Exynos 2100 uses a 7nm manufacturing process, it is almost certain that the company will adopt the same 5nm process as the one used for the Exynos 1080 and Snapdragon 888.

In addition, a few days ago, an alleged Galaxy S21 Ultra with the company’s new processor was spotted on the Geekbench 5 testing platform with 1006 points in the single-core and 3059 points in the multi-core test, which is enough points to hit the Snapdragon 888.

The Samsung Exynos 2100 is expected to power the Galaxy S21 trio in most global markets. While regions like the US, China, and South Korea will typically use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC. Wait and watch it!
