Good news for residents in China! OPPO recently announced that the Pre-booking for its Reno flagship smartphone is now open on its website.

The new Reno Reno features a dual rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor. Rumors have it that Reno is the first smartphone to feature OPPO’s 10x optical zoom technology. We don’t have an official verdict of this, yet.

OPPO vice president referred to the “Reno Standard Edition” when talking about the phone’s sample design pictures. This surely hints that there could be a more premium version of the Reno that features the 10x camera. HANG IN THERE FOLKS, WE MIGHT BE UP FOR A SURPRISE!

Details to look forward to!

The website confirms that Reno’s design will consist of slim bezels. The phone will contain an enormous 4,800mAh battery, and four color choices — Nebula Purple, Extreme Night Black, Fog Sea Green, and Mist Powder. The phone’s expected to bank a Qualcomm processor, though we don’t know if it’s the Snapdragon 710 or Snapdragon 855.

Something’s fishy..

Interestingly, OPPO Vice President, Shen Yiren, told that the Reno features a smaller 4,065mAh battery. Going to back to the website’s claim, this hints to a possibility of there being more than one versions of the Reno.

Lastly, the website mentions support for OPPO’s VOOC 3.0 charging standard. VOOC 3.0 is supposedly 23.8 percent faster than VOOC 2.0, so expect very fast top-up speeds from the newer standard.

PEOPLE OF CHINA, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

As of this writing, China residents can reserve the Reno in Extreme Night Black, Fog Sea Green, and Mist Powder. All three color choices come with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Only the Fog Sea Green variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

There’s plenty we still don’t know about the Reno, though the website states an April 10 launch in Shanghai. Also, invites for the Reno launch event in Zurich, Germany went out to the press yesterday. It seems as if we’ll learn much more about the phone very soon.
