OPPO Ltd., a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is looking to update its series of A-series of mid-range smartphones with a new model. The new model is expected to launch as early as April 30th in China. Details about a certain mid-range OPPO A9 have now surfaced online courtesy of an online publication “MySmartPrice” which claims to have obtained this info from a reliable source.
OPPO A9: an affordable variant of OPPO Reno
Earlier this month, the company released a powerhouse of a phone under the name OPPO Reno. The new OPPO A9 is termed as an affordable version of the Reno. As with most recent devices in the A series, the A9 is expected to come with a water-drop screen. The rear of the phone is decorated by a dual-camera setup with an LED flash, a fingerprint sensor. An addition to the phone design has been an OPPO branding which has been identical in the A9, the Reno 10x Zoom and the Reno Standard Edition. Perhaps its major selling point will be a 48MP main sensor similar to the Reno, though details of the twin camera and the front sensor have yet to be revealed.
The leak suggests it will launch with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. However, there are still no details about the chipset. But speculators suggest it might get MediaTek chipsets similar to most other devices in the series. Other notable specs include a 4,020mAh capacity with VOOC 3.0 fast charging (20W). Lastly, the newest OPPO phone will run Android 9 out of the box.
The device like we stated earlier will drop later in the last days of April, and when it does, it will come in Ice Jade White, Mica Green and Fluorite Purple color options at about CNY 1,700 – that’s around $250/€225, the report claims.
