OnePlus, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, requires no prominent introduction to the tech-savvy population of this generation. The company saw a radical increase in its publicity after the production of its flagship phones OnePlus 3 and 3T. Since this product proved to be pivotal point of OnePlus’s sale, the company has never seen a dark day, again.
As far as the company’s software developments are concerned, OnePlus has been rather unjust towards the former variants of its flagship. OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X were two heavily armed devices with great potential but, were somehow neglected by the company. However, the company learned from its shortcomings and made the necessary measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again. OnePlus 3 (released in June 2016) and OnePlus 3T (released in November 2016) have really proved to be the game-changer for OnePlus’s sales. The company put in extra efforts to provide an enhanced hardware and software experience.
Since the official release of Google’s Android Pie in early March, 2018, OnePlus users have eagerly waited to upgrade their powerful handsets to the latest firmware version of Hydrogen OS and Oxygen OS, customized versions of the native Android operating system for Chinese and global regions, respectively. Both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users have come a really long way since they debuted with Oxygen OS 3.0 in June 2016. Up until this month both the devices continued using Android 8.0, but OnePlus has eventually decided to roll out the much-awaited Android Pie to the devices.
Rolling out updates: SOON!
In order to accelerate its deadline to roll out the update, OnePlus has recruited testers for Hydrogen OS’s next update for the Chinese region. On the other hand, a slight delay for the international region update was expected due to some issues with Google CTS. But luckily, since Hydrogen OS does not need to pass CTS, it has gotten the green signal for an imminent release in the coming week.
Since the build quality on the phone has been brilliant in experience for numerous users around the globe, the latest Android update will surely be an intriguing and intuitive experience for the users.
