Nubia held an event today, meant to showcase a bunch of new gaming phones and also a gaming tablet. I must admit I haven’t seen one in a while now, so it’s a pretty special device. It’s dubbed Nubia RedMagic Gaming Tablet and it comes with a large 12.1 inch screen.
Nubia has officially introduced the RedMagic Gaming Tablet in China, together with the RedMagic 8S Pro and 8S Pro+ phones. The new slate has an all metal unibody design, weighs 613 grams and measures 6.5 mm in thickness. Its back side design is inspired by a PCB circuit and specs include a 13 megapixel main shooter and a 16 MP front camera.
The tablet has a 12.1 inch 2.5K LCD screen, one that’s custom made by BOE and offering a 144 Hz refresh rate. There’s also a 240 Hz touch sampling rate and 600 nits of peak brightness. The Nubia RedMagic Gaming Tablet supports 10 bit color depth and comes with a 16:10 screen ratio. It also has a contrast ratio of 1500:1.
Quad speakers are included and on the software front we have Android 13 with RedMagic OS 8.0 on top. Inside there’s a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU, plus LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. There’s support for 5G and an ICE magic cooling system for optimal performance. Nubia claims that during intense gaming sessions, ones that may even last 60 minutes we can get up to a frame rate of 59.8 FPS.
There’s also an impressive 10.000 mAh battery with 80W flash charging. The price is $538 for the model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, as an early bird offer.
