MediaTek recently introduced the Helio G88 and Helio G96 processors, which are the successors of the Helio G85 and G95 respectively, mainly in the aspect of display performance is a big upgrade, but only support 4G.
MediaTek Helio G96 has eight cores, including two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.05GHz, supporting for LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2, supporting for Hyperengine 2.0 Lite gaming technology, and supporting for dual 4G.
On the display side, Helio G96 supports a 120Hz refresh rate at FHD + resolution and is compatible with both LCD and AMOLED panels. In addition, the processor also supports 108MP phone lens.
Helio G88 is an eight-core version of the former, with two 2.0GHz Cortex-A75 cores, 90Hz refresh rate at 1080p+ resolution, and a 64MP lens. The Helio G88 also supports dual 4G.

MediaTek’s Helio G96 and Helio G88 processors are aimed at the low – and mid-range handset market, and handset makers are expected to launch smartphones powered by the two processors in the next few months.
