LG Mobile has developed a bad reputation for its inconsistent Smartphone Operating system and general software updates. In 2018, the company made a bold declaration that it has set its focus towards consistent updating of its smartphones. The declarative attempt came out as an act of redemption of its bad reputation with software updates. However, it’s been a year since the declaration and things have only gone further downhill.
ANDROID PIE CAME OUT 9 MONTHS AGO
After a period of 9 long months since Google released the final version of its latest OS – Android Pie, LG still hasn’t rolled out one for its users. Even a handful of lesser-known OEMs from China have released the Android Pie update to a number of Smartphones under their portfolio.
LUCKY LG SMARTPHONE MODELS
LG G7 One and G7 ThinQ are the only two lucky devices of the Korean firm that have managed to receive the latest OS update. But, reports tell us that this could be changing soon. Alas, a piece of good news for the LG users. The South Korean phone maker plans to release the long-awaited Android 9 Pie update to more LG devices later this year.
TARGETED PHONES FOR ANDROID PIE UPDATE
The phones specifically under the spotlight for a potential release include the LG V30, V30S ThinQ, V35 ThinQ, and V40 ThinQ. These phones are next in line for an Android Pie update later in June. The release date of the update is still kept unknown by the firm; however, users in its homeland of Korea will be the first to get such updates before rolling out to other regions.
