iPhone SE4 Smartphone Leaked: Self-developed 5G baseband

Apple’s progress on 5G baseband has not been as fast as expected, which has also led to a slowdown in the launch of the iPhone SE4.

Information emanating from Apple’s supply chain suggests that Apple is unlikely to release the fourth-generation iPhone SE in 2024. In a research note, analysts said Apple’s decision not to launch a new iPhone SE next year could indicate that the company’s rumored internal 5G modem won’t be ready anytime soon.

According to the previous Guo Mingqi, Apple’s first 5G baseband model is the iPhone SE4, if there is no problem with the test, then the iPhone 16 will also be used, if the above news is true, then the overall rhythm will be slow.

Some industry insiders said that compared with 4G, 5G baseband is more difficult to do, the hardware design is simple, but you have to do signal testing with different operators around the world, which is a long and cumbersome process.

The current iPhone SE was released in March 2022 with a 4.7-inch LCD display, Touch ID, 5G, 12-megapixel rear camera and A15 Bionic chip.

It starts at $429 in the U.S., making it one of Apple’s lowest-priced iPhone models, with the first and second generation iPhone SE released in 2016 and 2020, respectively.
