Honor, a leading smartphone brand under Huawei, is a smartphone giant in the Chinese smartphone market. Recently, reports hint towards a probable launch of two new devices from the company in its home market. According to a Chinese blog CNMO, the two new handsets that are set to be officially announced include the Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro. Trusting on the rumors, these handsets seem to be successors to last year’s successful Honor 10. Surprisingly, there was no Pro version release of the Honor 10. However, it did have a ‘Lite’ version called the Honor 10 Lite. Anywho, April 25 is an expected date for the launch of both devices.
Let’s see what are we waiting for.
Honor 20 & 20 Pro: Specifications & Features
As per CNMO’s reports, the Honor 20, is coming with a 6.1-inch, an adequately large OLED display. Honor, coming a little late to the party, is now debuting its first in-screen fingerprint scanner. The phone contains Huawei’s “Qualcomm” competitive Kirin 980 SoC. The phone is also likely to support Huawei’s 22.5-watt fast charging technology. As far as the battery is concerned, a capacity of 3650mAh is being anticipated. Considering the recent camera trends, the phone is coming with the in-demand triple rear camera setup. The setup consists of a 48-megapixel primary camera, a secondary 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a third 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom capability.
Honor 20 Pro
While the major focus is the Honor 20, 20 Pro is an advanced version of the “normal” version. The phone will feature a better and more versatile camera setup. Initial indications are that the device will get the same Sony IMX600 sensor that the Huawei P30 Pro uses. Details regarding the display size and the battery capacity are still unclear for the Honor 20 Pro. The device will come in a 6GB +128GB variant.
Launch Date and Price in India
As you might have already read, both these phones are likely to be first unveiled in China before they make it to India. The announcement in China is likely to happen on April 25. If these two handsets ever make it to India, it would likely be in Late May or early June as per our estimates. The device is expected to have a price around INR 35,000 to 40,000 considering its Yuan price tag. Do note, however, that these priced are mere speculations at this point of time.
