HMD Global to launch two 5G phones in Q3

HMD Global is a bit behind in releasing flagship phones this year. The Nokia 9 PureView flagship has 5 rear cameras and it takes better photos than some of this year’s flagship. However, it falls short in performance as it uses last year’s Snapdragon 845 processor.

HMD Global’s 5G Smartphone

According to reports, the Finnish company will launch a 5G smartphone this year. The 5G smartphone might be the successor to the Nokia 9 PureView. However, new details have surfaced and they reveal there will be two Nokia 5G smartphones this year.

Not one but two 5G-enabled smartphones

According to the source of the leaks, the two 5G phones might have:

  1. Snapdragon 855 processor, being the flagship 5G phone.
  2. Snapdragon 700 series processor, being the value flagship 5G phone.

Currently, the company’s value flagship is Nokia 8.1. This leads to a deduction that the latest 5G smartphone might be a successor to Nokia 8.1. It may be called the Nokia 8.2.

Both phones are expected to launch towards the end of the third quarter, so there is still a lot of waiting to do.

The source didn’t reveal any info about the design of the two phones but we will be surprised if one of them doesn’t have a punch hole display.
