Hey Guys

So there a few tutorial on how to fix/reinsert your IMEI numbers if you have flashed a new Rom, or performed a Factory Reset, sometimes this will clear the IMEI numbers, meaning you get no signal anymore.

The IMEI number needs to be placed back into the phone, the easy way is to use MTK Droid Tools, but as I have discovered this wil not work for 64bit new generation systems! and using Mobile Uncle to restore the IMEI from a BAK file also will not work, essentially these Two programs are waiting for updates.

There is however a solution, there is an app called "MTK Engineer" on the store

In this app you can amend the IMEI number

(1) Open the app and click the MTK Settings

(2) Go to Connectivity

(3) Go to CDS Information

(4) Go to Radio Information

Once there you will see Two options

(1) Phone 1

(2) Phone 2

So choose Phone 1 to begin

Once in this section, you will see at the very top AT+

Tap this and it will open the keyboard - type any letter, and then go back, as this will show an auto selection for you to choose.

Choose AT+EGMR=1,7,"" (insert IMEI here)

This is where you will type in your IMEI Number

(If you have a Dual Sim device, then use AT +EGMR=1.10"" For the second Sim IMEI Number)

Once its typed in hit "Send At Command"Â and reboot your phone and type *#06# and see what it says

(if its still invalid see below)

Now there may be an issue, so if you get a userbuild error when you type in the IMEI number and hit "Send At Command" there is a quick fix

In other words if you use the above method but it says "Blah Blah User build error" then what you need to do is alter the AT+ section

Where you begin AT+ make sure you make a space between AT and + so instead of AT+ it will be AT (space) +

(Some people are saying its AT+ then space, but this method above worked for me)

Then proceed as before to insert you IMEI at the end of the line

Sometimes even though you will see the message "Command Sent" - when you reboot and type *#06# it may still show IMEI is invalid.

So go back to the app and do everything as before except this time at the end of the text where there are 2 Quotation marks you need to type the IMEI in between these!

So instead off having AT +EGMR=1,7,"" and then typing in your

IMEI

You need to have AT +EMGR=1,7,"123456789123456" (Obviously your IMEI number here not 123-----)
Just double check that there is a space between AT and +

(or AT+ then (space)and that the IMEI number is between the Quotation marks as above and then hit "Send At Command"

Reboot your phone and type *#06# and you should have a working IMEI again

Any question just ask

Nice tutorial bro...

But there are some things you left out.

1. This method may not work unless you leave a space between

At and +. Especially on devices that runs on KitKat.

2. You can also get engineering mode on mobile uncle.

3. It's not compulsory you restart your phone for changes to take effect. You can just enable and disable airplane mode.

Thanks for the tutorial though.

hey jiridwan,he had to do this because his device has the 64bit SoC and mobile uncle toolbox will not allow you to enter engineering mode with this SoC,also he did mention the space between A+...did you read this properly my friend

Yes I did talk about the space? that was part of the possible errors?

Things are a little different on 64bit phones as mrsim said, hence this amended method

But thanks for your input

Okay sir.

But the airplane mode trick still remains valid though....

It's gonna save more time. Instead of restarting.

It says fail because you have not followed the thread correctly, you have to make space and then type between the the " " marks :emoticon-0100-smile:

So you have root  access you said, as you tested this using root checker.

So use MTK Droid Tools (link below)

https://www.china-devices.com/Thread-MTK-MEGAPACK-DOWNLOAD-All-Downloads-here

Connect your device to PC - open MK Droid Tools and run as admin

Post a screenshot here

OK

Maybe your NVRAM is corrupt, you can try using MOBILE UNCLE from the store and do the same as below

https://www.china-devices.com/Thread-Restore-IMEI-On-64bit-Devices-Possible-Issue-s-Fixed

This might be better as you have 6582 device

Or look at these below, and see if they help you.
