Hey guys,

just stumbled across this nice little tool on XDA.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2734161

its basically a windows tool to create a IMEI.BAK file, which can be used to restore the IMEI in Mobile Uncle toolbox if the AT command doesnt work.

Download is also below as attachement!

Here is how to use it :

1.download Mobileuncle MTK IMEI Write Tool Mobileuncle MTK IMEI Write Tool.zip

input"Y",input IMEI code

finally, create IMEI .BAK,move it to ur phone or SD card

2.download mobileuncle from playstore or link above

3.need root, run mobileuncle MTK tool, choose IMEI backup and restore, restore IMEI.bak.

Really nice tool, thanks to the guy on XDA !

just to let the users know this method worked for my sister in laws INEW V8 and restored both IMEI numbers

if you get confused with the command input

"type y" then press enter

"type IMEI number for IMEI 1" then press enter

"type IMEI number for IMEI 2" then press enter

the IMEI.BAK file will have been generated it should be in the same folder as the tool .zip so create a folder and unzip the file there before running the program

props and thanks go to @kiyee from XDA

please checkout XDA , changing IMEI is illegal and not easy on non MTK phones. Recovering IMEI is ok, but not easy too
