heya radmos,

Before you do anything at all, first make a BACKUP from your STOCK rom via MTK DROID Tools and SPFlash tool. Once you have the backup than you can try whatever custum ROMs you like.

Finding a custum ROM that work without any bugs delays and errors is rly hard, but that dont stop you to search for ROms and test alot of them. Using this procedure in the tutorial you can try to port any ROM you like and make it compatible with your device.

And again, make a BACKUP first before you try porting/flashing any ROMs to your phone or you could soft/hard brick your device...

This should be a requirement to register on the forum, make backup before joining.... LOL im just kidding

hey niko...there are two 'android kitchens' over at XDA dxdas android kitchen and rickys rom kitchen...which one are you using

i think i need one of these in order to try and improve the rom on my umi zero...because that is what i am trying to do...rather than port another rom onto it i want to try and improve the existing rom

hajres you can try this method and see what happens, i have test this with MTK6572 but it should work without problem for mtk6592 too.

Anyway before you try anything make sure you have a backup from your stock ROM, if you havent got already better make a full backup before you try anything.

heyo tawhid,

ofc it matters which ROM you will try to port... you should try to find a ROM for porting according your SoC of the phone.

if your phone is with mtk 6572 then try to find a ROM from other phone which run on MTK 6572 SoC.

But before anything make a full backup of your ROM with SPFT and MTK Droid tools then continue with porting.

You`re welcomed my friend!

I have a few Elephone mobile phone's and try to port some rom but in all tutorials mentioned vold files and i can't find it. Can you please explain to me how I find it? Thank you.

it is a very simple step

6.Now go in system/etc folder of your STOCK ROM and Copy/Paste to PORT ROM:

   - firmware folder

   - bluetooth folder

   - vold.fstab file and

   - vold.fstab.nand file
