Hey guys, here is just a short tutorial on how to install preloader and adb driver correctly.

People still mix that things up, so here is a short explanation :

1) Preloader Driver:

That driver is needed for FLASHING with Sp-Flashtool . DOES NOT require USB debugging on your phone enabled

2) ADB Driver

That driver is needed for ADB connection to your PC ( ADB commands, or getting it recognized in MTK DROID TOOLS. Needs USB debugging ON , on your smartphone.!

Now you know the difference, so how to install them :

1) Preloader Driver.

To get the preloader recognized, the phone has to be connected WITHOUT battery to the PC.

On devices with non-removable battery, pls find the reset button (camera hole, between volume rockers or under backcover) , connect phone and press the reset button to get the preloader recognized in Device manager.

Now have a look at the device manager when you connect it :

you should see this for a few seconds.

If you can see this, all is good, its detected and just the driver has to be installed.

Now download this driver :

MT6577 USB VCOM Driver (W7/Vista/XP):

http://www.mediafire.com/download/cypm22rgs2k83ji/MT6577+USB+VCOM+drivers.rar

http://www.4shared.com/archive/PorcmvaX/MT6577_USB_VCOM_drivers.htm

MT6577 USB VCOM Driver (W8):

http://www.mediafire.com/download/7yee2of64nhl947/SP_Drivers_v1.4.rar

find the "MTK 65xx Preloader" folder.

Now reconnect again with open device manager. Be quick and right click the preloader and go to update driver software !

chose here, have disk and point manually to the "MTK 65xx Preloader Folder" !

Now if it asks you, chose 65xx preloader. And it should install fine

So now reconnect the phone , and the yellow triangle should be gone.

If you still got problems , download USB DEVIEW :

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html

and remove all MT , MTK , Preloader , VCOM PORT entries and try the whole process again. Or use a different PC / Cable / port.

2) ADB driver

Installing the ADB drivers is really easy. Just download the PDAnet installer and run it before you connect your phone in usb debugging mode.

here is a good tutorial + 32/64 bit download

https://www.topnotchtablets.com/installADBdriver

Also one tipp, on X64 windows, press F8 at boot and chose disable driver signature enforcement !!!!!!!

It attempts to install the drivers, so theya re loaded, they just don't install because the boot loop interrupts them, but to double check

I have USBDeview app open with the phone connected. I get a green light on MT65xx Android Phone PreLoader when the boot cycle opens, also there is a pink (not red) pink, light on the Android ADB Interface at this time, then of course the boot loop shuts it all down. So unless you say otherwise, I understand this MAY mean drivers installed correctly, but incomplete connection due to boot loop. (As I said earlier, since I hope I am now moving beyond the realm of this tutorial in the next stage of my repairs, my next update/post about this phone will be in the section for hardware and software support, thanks, out.

some of those vcom drivers are not signed. thats just a thing you can try if everything else fails. Same as having admin rights on the pc.

please continue posting in your thread you made. That tutorial shouldnt be a support forum.
I think we are misunderstanding, I am posting in the thread I made, in 'support' not here anymore. BTW I found nothing when i booted my PC in f8 , so I googled it, the only reference I found without spending even more time, was to Windows 8. UPDATE I have seen your link, I will go back and try again because this is just to problematic to miss a step, Just in case, I am paranoid now! What's another few days? It has not worked right since I got the damn thing full of Chinese crapware.

Final update: I did a 'restart' last time, not a shutdown, that was why f8 did not work. Another day another screw up by me, s'normal!

Hi, with battery unplugged, if I connect Efox E5S to the USB ports nothing works.

Windows not see the "MTK 65xx preloader" device (page not refresh for the few seconds!).

Pdanet driver works with Efox E4 but not with E5S.

I tried also other driver from the "All MTK USB Driver 2014" ZIP file but nothing.

EDIT (solved): to make it work on the efox E5S the battery must be plugged in (but power off) or Windows cannot recognize the device (MTK65xx preloader).

if you want to add a photo here the best site to use is www.imgur.com,upload the file to their servers then in the bottom right hand side of the screen just below the links you will see the choices...large thumbnail, medium thumbnail...etc etc...i usually use medium then just copy and paste the pic from imgur into the thread and you should be good to go

as for your driver problem...use 'usb deview' and uninstall ALL mtk, phone drivers from your p.c.

then make a clean install this works best

Thank you mrsim,

I took a look at the link. But i'm not able to choose.

I mean, in the driver's folder, i found a MT65xx preloader folder.

But i have a MT67xx and not a MT65xx. Can i use it ?
