Hey guys, just wanted to write a short guide on where to find roms.

Here comes a list of websites where you can look:

1. http://www.needrom.com

2. http://multicorechina.com/android-roms/

3. http://www.xda-developers.com/

4. http://www.shendu.com

5. The website of the factory ( like hdcmobile.com)

6.http://www.chinasmartphonereview.com/

7. http://www.google.com

if you cannot find a rom there , then also try BAIDU.

http://www.baidu.com

it´s a search engine like google, but baidu has better access to chinese websites (Almost all chinese people use baidu)

You can try to use a translater like google translate to find a rom there.

If you still cannot find a rom , ask the seller !

Just contact him and say your phone does not boot anymore or something and ask him if he can send you the link or dump the software.

Also you can write requests here, maybe some user has the same phone and can dump the software for you.

Hope you all find a ROM !

Best,

steven
excellent tutorials

I've got the Stock rom now but when i try to flash it it gives me this error: (4032) S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL

I tried first time with Firmware upgreade and it works smoothly but the phone is still off..can't open it

try and boot into recovery and wipe data/factory reset...see if this allows you to boot up the device

Tried that too, but nothing...and now dosen't turn of at all, but my PC recognises it...
ok we are gonna try and boot into recovery

hold both vol buttons and power button and keep them held, plug device into charger and still keep all buttons held, add battery and still keep them held

if this does not work then i have the method mixed up so do the same again but add battery second after holding all buttons then the charger

and if that does not work we will try something else

Nope, still dosen't want to turn on at all.....I'm wondering if it's not possible to fix it by myself, Should i take it to an authorised service?
most authorized service shops will not touch chinese devices as they do not usually work with them, you can try if you want, have a look below for your error code and see if the solution helps

if your device is still recognized by your p.c. then your preloader should still be ok so if you decide to format and flash again then please DO NOT FORMAT BOOTLOADER/PRELOADER

I tried that and it still gives me that error even when i'm trying to format it...
if that device is on contract then the bootloader may well be locked...sorry i didn't think of that before am so used to chinese devices having an unlocked bootloader

this may well be the reason why you cannot flash anything to the device

And any way to unlock it? btw, it's an alcatel, so don't think so it's such a bad chinese one
am not even sure if alcatel is chinese or not but the SoC is mediatek which means we need chinese software

am just doing some research now about unlock for alcatel devices

my "yomi" is in service,

I tried for a week to reinstall ROM , but I didn't.

I hope to make it ,

if I formatted whole flash, inclusiv preloader, the guarantee is valid ?
cornel,

if the device is locked to orange then the bootloader may well be locked, and rooting, installing recoveries and roms will always void your warranty unless your vendor/company specify differently

but don't worry too much not many companies check, can you possibly contact your provider,(orange),and ask them if your bootloader is locked or not...this will confirm for us that we need to unlock it in order to flash roms

another way you can usually tell is by trying a different company sim card..if it does not allow you access then the bootloader is locked
