Chinese handset maker Doogee has unveiled its new S97 Pro, its first rugged smartphone with a professional laser rangefinder. The rangefinder can detect a distance of 40 meters and has eight measurement modes.
The front of the Doogee S97 Pro features a 6.39-inch ‘HD+Dot’ display with a 1560×720 resolution and a 16-megapixel selfie camera punched in the upper left corner. The laser rangefinder’s transmitter and receiver are located on top of the phone. Behind are four cameras, consisting of a 48-megapixel Samsung sensor + an 8-megapixel ultra-wide Angle + a 2-megapixel macro + a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Doogee S97 Pro also supports IP68 and IP69K immersion protection, has a huge 8,500 mAh battery that lasts three days and can be half recharged in an hour, and supports wireless charging. In terms of performance, the S97 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 chipset, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
It has a side-mounted fingerprint and comes preloaded with Android 11, which comes with a toolbox of apps that are useful for construction, hiking and other outdoor activities.

Doogee S97 Pro will be on sale on June 21 for a limited time until June 25 for $199. After that, the phone will be on sale for $329. It is available in Orange Tiger, Lava Red and Silver Black.
