Chuwi is a brand we’ve covered multiple times when it came to tablet launches. They’ve just come up with a new slate dubbed HiPad Plus, an Android tablet with pretty decent hardware. It’s focused on entertainment more than anything else, which is clearly highlighted by the 11 inch 2K screen with 4:3 aspect.
The HiPad Plus is now available in the prelaunch event which takes place from February 5th to the 21st. The official price may be $299, but the launch event cut it to just $249. You need to visit the event page on the Chuwi site and subscribe in advance with an email. Then you receive a $50 coupon code. There are also raffles in this period with 2 free tablets. Now as far as this Quad HD tablet is concerned, it provides a panel which is 100% sRGB, making the light areas detailed and dark ones more profound.
The device is made of metal from what I can see and weighs less than 18 ounces. It’s 6.9 mm in thickness and benefits from a full CNC machining process. The CPU is an octa core MediaTek MT8183, with 4 Cortex A73 and 4 Cortex A53 cores. It also provides a Mali-G72 GPU, which can even handle 4K output and 3D games. The product launches in stores on February 22nd, with extra perks and offers. Other specs aren’t clearly known, but I expect something like 4 or 6 GB of RAM, an 8 MP back camera and at least an 8000 mAh battery.
