Amazon Fire HD 10 (2023) Tablet Unveiled; What’s New?

Amazon held a pretty big event yesterday, during which it unveiled a bunch of new products, including soundbars, smart speakers and a tablet or two. The tablet is the latest Fire 10 model, better said Amazon Fire HD (2023), which is now available for preorder, with deliveries starting on October 18th.

The device is priced at $140 for the 32 GB model and there will also be a 64 GB model. The new Fire HD 10 comes in 3 colors: Black, Lilac and Ocean. It uses a 2.05 GHz octa core processor, 3 GB of RAM and runs on Fire OS. Its battery promises up to 13 hours of usage, up from 12 hours on the predecessor. We also get a main 5 megapixel camera and a front 5 MP camera for videocalls.

The screen is much the same as the previous model, a 10.1 incher with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. Amazon was also able to shrink the product compared to the predecessor. It now measures 246 x 164.8 x 8.6 mm, while the 2021 model was 247 x 166 x 9.2 mm. It also weighs 433 grams, while the 2021 model weighed 465 grams.

On the 2023 model we find a 3.5 mm audio jack, an USB-C port for charging and data transfer, a singular microphone and the volume and Power buttons. Bluetooth 5.3 is also here and support for 15W charging. There’s also a microSD card slot. It will be available here.
